African Gifted Foundation was founded in 2010 with the aim to set the benchmark for gifted education and to lead by example by delivering high quality gifted education opportunities to hundreds of gifted young people, in cooperation with leading African universities. Since 2011, AGF has partnered with world-class organisations, with expertise in mathematics and computing, to deliver unique educational experience for exceptionally gifted African students, whose ages have ranged from 14 to 18. AGF ran their first summer Academy in Uganda. In 2012 Academies were held in both Uganda and Ghana and in 2013 a fourth Academy was run in Ghana. Through these four academy sessions AGF has reached out to over 200 gifted African students. Inspired by the students’ ability and potential AGF decided to create a permanent school for gifted young girls from across the continent. Through the running of these Academies, we have already created a wide network of schools, students and professionals from all over the continent.
