Efua Adabie, Headteacher
Efua Adabie joined ASA as headteacher in April 2016. Efua has a background in chemistry and has over 15 years of experience teaching science in both Ghana and the UK. She has experience leading the implementation of science curricula and was previously the Head of Science at a leading Ghanaian International School.
Dr. Jacob Ashong, Ghana Director
Jacob Ashong is the Director of the Ghana Planetarium Science Centre and founder of the Astronomical Society of Ghana. Since 1999, Jacob and his wife, Jane, have been running a distance learning resource centre for the University of Leicester. Other activities include outreach projects with a travelling inflatable dome and visits to schools. In 2006 Jacob and Jane founded a charity, Girls School Africa, to pay the Secondary School fees of needy girls. Jacob has a PhD in Malaria medication and a Masters degree in Human Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Ian May, Finance Director
Ian May has been with AGF from its start as a part-time Finance Director. He has a variety of experience in both private and charitable sectors covering a range of areas from industrial, retail to education. He is also Finance Director of the Baker Dearing Educational Trust and was previously FD of St Paul’s School and the acting FD of the Hammersmith Academy School during its construction.
