Charles Parker

Charles Parker, co-founder of the African Gifted Foundation, was appointed as CEO of the Baker Dearing Educational Trust in June 2012. Charles was for 10 years Chief Executive Officer of a major City of London charity that sponsored 16 schools across the UK.

Among his key activities was educational innovation and development of City Academies. He was a governor of the world-renown Royal Ballet School, London since 2000 where as Chairman of the Building Committee, Charles oversaw the redevelopment of the Upper School in Covent Garden and the Lower School in Richmond Park.

Earlier in his career, after reading Modern History at Trinity College, Oxford and obtaining an MBA from Insead, Charles worked extensively across Southern and East Africa, including his involvement with a number of educational and charitable projects for the Chairman’s Fund of Anglo American Corporation, South Africa.
